The Oxnard Pagoda Bandstand has been the central gathering place for the residents of Oxnard for the past 90 years. The city of Oxnard recently paid for a restoration of this historic landmark, sparking me to gather the stories and pictures that have taken place at Oxnard's first city park.
Poster by Boross & Higgins I had a book signing the park, complete with music, food and artisans. We had a great time! Ruth Priest, daughter of the architect of the pagoda, Alfred Priest, drove down from Santa Barbara. We also had Paul Thomas, the great grandson of the builder Thomas Carroll, show up and wave to the crowd. The music was outstanding and the day was picture perfect. That is why I was able to get some great shots of the day: MC's for the day, Alison & Brooke Maulhardt. Thanks girls!
